RESOLUTION NO. 2003-373
REQUESTING THE COMMISSIONER OF MN/DOT
CONDUCT A SPEED ZONING STUDY
SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD FROM VICKSBURG LANE TO PEONY LANE
WHEREAS, a new bridge is currently under construction to a provide connection between
Peony Lane and Vicksburg Lane;
WHEREAS, the completion of this connection will increase traffic volumes on this
roadway; and
WHEREAS, there are trails on both sides of this roadway and the roadway connects with
the main Wayzata High School driveway to the west on Peony Lane; and
WHEREAS, City staff is concerned with the limited sight distance on the east side of the
bridge for vehicles making a left turn into the residential development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, That the City requests the Commissioner of the
Minnesota Department of Transportation undertake an engineering study to determine the
safe and reasonable speed on Schmidt Lake Road from Vicksburg Lane to Peony Lane;
FURTHER BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, That the speed zoning study be completed as
soon after completion of the bridge as possible.
