RESOLUTION No. 2015-157
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CONSULTANT AND APPROVING AGREEMENT
WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROJECT ( 15022)
WHEREAS, the City maintains over 22,000 water meters that are used to collect consumption
information and to generate water and sewer bills; and
WHEREAS, the City currently reads approximately three-fourths of these meters manually,
which are original to the property; and
WHEREAS, the accuracy of the meters diminishes over time, resulting in inaccurate billing; and
WHEREAS, a request for proposal was sent to five engineering firms that have expertise in meter
replacement projects; and
WHEREAS, four proposals were received and evaluated by city staff; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that Short Elliot Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) be designated as the
consultant engineer for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, Short Elliot Hendrickson, Inc. is designated as the City's consultant engineer for the water
meter replacement project, City Project No. 15022 in the amount of $187,000.00.
FURTHERMORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to
sign the Agreement for Professional Services.
