RESOLUTION NO. 2003-232
RESOLUTION IMPOSING A CIVIL PENALTY
AGAINST ABE' S TOBACCO FOR
TOBACCO COMPLIANCE CHECK VIOLATION
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Police Department routinely conducts compliance checks on
licensed tobacco establishments within the City; and
WHEREAS, during one of these checks conducted on November 30, 2003, an individual
employed at Abe's Tobacco, 16605 County Road 24, sold tobacco to an underage person;
and
WHEREAS, that individual has appeared in Hennepin County District Court and been
found guilty of this violation; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statutes and Plymouth City Coe allow for administrative
civil penalties against the license holders for such violations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, that the City Council adopt the Resolution imposing a civil
penalty against Abe's Tobacco for a license suspension of five -days to be served at the
discretion of the City within two months of the adoption of this Resolution, and an
administrative fine of $500.
