RESOLUTION NO. 2003-052
AUTHORIZING "NO PARKING" RESTRICTIONS FOR
THE RESERVE DEVELOPMENT NORTHWEST OF
SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD AND I-494
WHEREAS, due to the narrower street design used in this development and the need to provide
adequate circulation for vehicles, including emergency vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the width of 53rd Avenue between Cheshire Lane and Empire Lane is 22 feet, which
can safely accommodate two vehicles; and
WHEREAS, this parking restriction would provide consistency along 53rd Avenue, east and west of
Cheshire Lane. This roadway east of Cheshire Lane is already signed with "No Parking - Fire
Lane" signs to prohibit parking on one side of the roadway; and
WHEREAS, the fire department connection is located immediately in front of 5250 Annapolis Lane
and sufficient area needs to be provided for a fire truck to use the necessary connection; and
WHEREAS, to provide for the orderly movement of traffic and provide for the safety of the public,
the City Engineer has recommended that "No Parking" signs be placed at certain locations in the
Reserve Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it hereby, authorizes the installation of "No Parking" signs
at the following locations in the Reserve Development:
1. The south side of westbound 53rd Avenue between Cheshire Lane and Empire
Lane,
2. The north side of eastbound 53rd Avenue between Cheshire Lane and Empire
Lane,
3. A distance of approximately 100 feet in front of the 5250 building of the
Reserve Apartments on the east side of Annapolis Lane.
