Planning Commission Minutes
October 10, 1984
Coordinator MoConn pointed out that there is one piece of
property between this parcel and I-494, and explained
further that it is not known at this time, how much of the
area guided LA -4 is developable.
MOTION by Commissioner Pauba, .seconded by Commissioner RECOMMENDATION A_
Magnus to recommend approval of the Land Use Guide Man
Amendment, subject to those conditions as recommended ',n the
draft Resolution.: The Commiissioners stated their interest$

request for preliminary plat approval, The Comm. saoners
reiterated their concerns, that the plan should propose
single family residential development, and adequate
transition to Harbor Lane for the highest and hest use of
the property.
Vice Chairman 'te gerwald concurred, stating that the
aesthetics of the neighborhood must be preserved.
Commissioner Wire commented on the uniqueness of the proper-
ty ui,th many trees and other features.L He also stated that
the Commission c-..rst consider the citizen in -put from the
earinq in April

Vice Chairman Ste Berwald introduced the request by Terrence TERRENCE PAL; 'IST
Pa.lmquist for Preliminary Plat to divide an unplatted parcel PRELIMINARY PLAT
into two lots. He asked for review of the October 11 1584 84086)
staff report from Coordinator McConn.
Vice -Chairman Steigerwald introduced Gregg Murray, attorney
for the petitioner, who had no questions,
Commissioner Pauba confirmed that this was: divison of
property by platting, and not by metes and bounds..
MOTION by Vice Chairman Stei.gerwald, seconded by RECOMWWATION 8
Commissioner: Pau a$ recommending approval for preliminary
plat for Terrence Palm uist subject to the conditions as
C stated in the draft Resolution.

Commissioner Magnus inquired if there would be space rented
to a tenant for industrialuse, or . carpentry.> Mr.. Nordness
responded negatively) the plan is for "pure storages ,`multi-
ple uses are 'messy". Mr. Mordness stated that secured
storage is the essence of the facility, there may be plans
for screened areas for recreational vehicles; but this is
doubtful.
Coordinator`McConn stated that staff has been researching
mini, storage facilities for country -wide standards.
Commissicner' 'Pauba stated: he would like to see some creatl*v-
Ity and ingenuity in construction. Mr. Nordness stated this
is what they Want to do.

ditions as stated in the draft

OTHER BUSINESS
Coordinator McConn reminded the Commission of the joint
Board of Zoning and Appeals/Commission meeting scheduled. for
October29, 1984. The Commission asked .staff to reconfirm
this meeting date by notice.

agenda items or ideas to Vice Chairman Steigerwald and
Chairwoman Vasilou.
Coordlrsator McCona asked that the Commission let staff know
if any meeting dates around the holidays need to be changed.
