Slides of the site and a transparency of the site arca were reviewed With the Commission.Mr. Merila explained that the intensity of the use has been reduced, and summarized the measures to be taken to reduce the amount of noise. Chairwoman Vasiliou confirmed with Mr. Merila that 10 carwash bays would be constructed initially with the potential. of .adding two more bays in the future. Davo Darrell Architect reviewed the proposed structure ?n- 4 eating that the xterior would be of prick veneer similar to the existing carwasti shown In the slides ,near Xnollwood Plaza in St. Louis Park. Chairwoman Vasiliou confirmed that Mr.. Merila, and Mr. .Darrell represented Fates Construction ,.. Company. The Commission discussed with Mr. Merila the potential, noise involved with the auto service center including tire re- placement. Commissioner- Stel gerwra,ld inquired as to 'whether the City has received complaints about; noise related to the taxi s*rvl de located to the vest, and about other noise at service stations. Planning Director Tremere confirmed that no complaints have been submitted related to noise with .such businesses. Commissioner Steig.erwald stated that he felt the Planning Commission was biing too concerned with an area that may not be a problem.. Commissioner Wise suggested that the hours of- operation on Sundays be Limited. Chairwoman Vasiliou confirmed with Mr. Sohn Tombars. peti- tioner,, that an employee who will be knowledgeable about the entire' carwash operatl,oht and who can: pollee the operation will be on duty 'during business hours. A review of the site topography and discussion regarding thenumber of units in the project was submitted. An explanation was provided of the programs offered to the residents; a review of the adjacent property land uses; and, management of the program. M. Bldne stated that the ,petitioner realizes that the proposed development :could increase the amount of sewer flaw from what .s anticipated with the current Lind Ilse Guide Plan designation. He, stated that data has been. provided from two existing larger congregate housing facilities, and noted that the petitioner anticipates investing additional dollars for water conservation measure -so Chairwoman Vasiliou reoogrt .zed Nr.
