Taylor responded that the reason they had not requested specific size tank was because anion Carbide might require gram to instill the larger tank if they use enough liquid nitrogen to warrant it. He asked that if grey install the 3,000 gallon tank and Union Carbide requires then to have a 6,000 gallon tank, mould they have to come back for Flanning c? lssicn and City Council approval. Mr* Taylor responded that they w 1 have posts filled with concrete at the corners of the fence which will prevent that happening* Discussion ensued regarding safety precautionsins °dor the tank. Commissioner Retcriley. asked whether large tracks would be maneuvering in this area, and Mr. Taylor responded in the affirmative. Commission r Hetchler stated that he would like to see language n the approval requiring concrete -filled posts to prevent trucks tacking into the tank. Commissioner SIT're inquired wh r there are regulations co rig the installation o something like what is proposed, ,and staff responded that it would be subject to Sat building and fire Codes and if thefence is set back from the tank i asci `, and the corner posts aro installed, then there is little potential of any vehicle rupturing the tank. Mr. Zviiefelhofer stated that if the building was turned, as suggested by staff to eliminate the variances and yet remain consistent with development in the area, i woulf. ruin the lot for his purposes. Chairvioinan Vasiliou asked the petitioner to state the hardship involved, and asked what was unique about the site in order for the Planning Commission to grant the variance. Petitioner reiterated the comments submitted to the file in, writing. Mr. Lindell stated that Mr. Niefelhofer, was in the contracting usi n ss and not the retail business because he has so trucks moving to arta from the site.
