HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1997-09CITY OF PLYMOUTH HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 97 - 9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 305.11 TO ALLOW STUDENT MEMBERS ON THE PLYMOUTH HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDAINS: Section 305.11, Subdivision 2 is hereby amended by deleting and adding the following language as indicated: Subd. 2. Membership. The Human Rights Commission consists of eleven fifteen members appointed in the manner set forth in this subsection. One member of the commission shall be appointed from each of the four wards established under the City Charter. One adult member shall be appointed from each of the four school districts. Four student members shall be appointed "at large" from students living in Plymouth. Three members of the Human Rights Commission are appointed from the City at large. Names of proposed members from the school districts shall be submitted by the School Boards to the City Council. Members of the Commission shall be appointed by the City Council for staggered terms of three years, expiring on January 31 of each year. Student members shall have flexible terms, depending on the grade level of the student appointed. The ordinance shall be in effect upon its date of passage. Adopted this 28"' day of May 1997.
