HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1998-14CITY OF PLYMOUTH HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 98-14 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 21, C-2 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) ZONING DISTRICT (98043) THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDAINS: Section 1. Section 21005 of the Plymouth City Code (Rules and Definitions) is hereby amended to read as follows: 21005.02. DEFINITIONS: The following words and terms, wherever they occur in this Ordinance, shall be interpreted as herein defined: Recreation, Commercial: A business directed toward the general public, not requiring membership, that offers recreational entertainment such as amusement centers, bowling alleys, billiard halls, miniature golf, mevie #heaters ballrooms, sports and health clubs and the like. Recreation, Personal Fitness: A private facility offering weight training, aerobic exercise floors and other similar athletic facilities, such as reducing salons, weight control establishments and private athletic, health or recreational facilities. Personal fitness establishments shall be limited to those facilities less than 3,000 square feet of floor area. Section 2. Section 21460 of the Plymouth City Code (C-2, Neighborhood Commercial District) is hereby amended to read as follows: 21460.03. PERMITTED USES: The following are permitted uses in a C-2 District: Ordinance 98-14 File No. 98043 Page 2 Subd. 1. All permitted uses as allowed in the C-1, Convenience Commercial District. Subd. 2. Amusement centers. Subd. 3. Art and school supply sales. Subd. 4. Art gallery and sales. Subd. 5. Bakery goods and baking of goods for retail sales on the premises. Subd. 6. Banks, savings and loans, credit unions and other financial institutions, with or without drive up tellers. Subd. 7. Bicycle sales and repair. Subd. 8. Camera and photographic supplies, sales and film processing. Subd. 9. Delicatessen/coffee house. Subd. 10. Drug stores. Subd. 11. Florist shops. Subd. 12. Frozen food retail, but not including a locker plant. Subd. 13. Gift or novelty stores. Subd. 14. Grocery, supermarkets. Subd. 15. Hardware stores. Subd. 16. Hobby and craft stores. Subd. 17. Ice sales with storage not to exceed five (5) tons. Subd. 18. Liquor, off sale. Subd. 19. Meat markets, but not including processing for a locker plant. Subd. 20. Medical, dental, and chiropractic offices and clinics. Subd. 21. Paint and wallpaper sales. Subd. 22. Plumbing, television, radio, electrical sales and such repair as is accessory use to the retail establishment permitted within this district. Subd. 23. Recreation, personal fitness. Subd. 2324. Sporting goods and recreational equipment sales, not including motorized vehicles or boats. Subd 2425. Studios - artist, music, photo, decorating, dance, etc. Subd. 2626. Veterinary clinic and kennel; and pet sales, supplies and grooming. Subd. 2627. Video rental and sales. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage.
