ORDINANCE NO. 2000-11
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
PLYMOUTH CITY CHARTER CONCERNING
OBSOLETE TRANSITIONAL MATTERS
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 410.12, Subd. 7 the Charter Commission has
recommended to the City Council that the Charter be amended as provided herein; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 410.12, Subd. 7 provides that upon recommendation of
the Charter Commission the City Council may enact a Charter Amendment by ordinance.
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.03, Subd. 4 of the City Charter is amended to read:
Subd. 4. UxQap* as p;ow ds in eo^*'^^ J- - *The mayor is elected for a term of
two years and a council member is elected for a term of four years. The mayor and council
members serve until their successors are elected and qualify for office.
SECTION 2. Section 2.03, Subd. 5 of the City Charter is hereby repealed:
SECTION 3. Section 4.02 of the City Charter is amended to read:
The regular city election is held on the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in November of even numbered years. The election is held at the
place or places designated by resolution of the city council. Notice of the election is given
in the manner provided by law. Failure to give notice of the election does not invalidate the
election.
SECTION 4. Section 12.11 of the City Charter is hereby repealed:

SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect ninety (90) days after its passage and
publication.
ADOPTED by the City Council this 21" day of March, 2000.
