Martin Ovezi-xser and Milton, Dale 1L`0WRT GC ,N1Y PARC Robert Gove, Donald King, Ronald Sassen and Donald Cochrane MSEUB STAM-1 Ilie Park Preserve staff made a presentation of the proposed multi-purpose tram, system for the, County and explained that the Park Preserve Boawas offering; to act as coordinator and. z. possibly partial, developer or maintainer of a trail, system, hey indicated that several. requests had betrn made by various trail groups and. by the Village of edana for such a system to be established., Federal and State financial participation for the development of such a system appears to be possible. Concerns expressed during the discussion period foll(xdng the presentation dealt with the following areas 1 R&at; would the cost of such a system be and who would fund the local share of such a system,? 2. Mio would be responsible for enforcement of regulations on the trail system which could be coord .hated by the Park Preserve Disteict in their prep- aration Aral adoption by local coomtmities? 3. Following the trail, system discussion,, tiie Park Commission and Planning Commission. reviewed the guide lanes to be applied to residential developments w th respect to trails prior to a formal:. In order to maintain a more extensive trail system it would require substantial in- creases in the operating budget of the .Park Department, The develo mnt of a trail system that is fully coordinated with the land use guide plan now wider preparatio, was discussed. It was concluded that +,he Village Trail, Committee chazxed by J. Richards Would provide the input into the draftingofsuchatrailt-stem .and also provide recormendatxons for the standards and criteria to be av;lied in the actual construction of such a trail system. The Planning Cum issima expres;sod concern., that we need to establish trails as properties are, being doveloped if the Village, wants a unified system.
