L This lotation could be put to better land use, such as a corabinatioa of
small stores, multiples of some kind and singly family residential.
Ws aew request Incorporates bvc one change and that is a reduction in
tile size of the proposal froti 24 acres to about 6 acres, with a some-
what smaller building, structure, aU4 that once the property is listed
as R-0 with proposed expatusion, at a later date and the proposed, center
would then be aq it was before.
Mr. William Keely, 1445 Ranier Lane. Lop,& vange planning in their report
stated that the feelings of the people ire the area would be considered.
These people still do not want the shopping center, regardless 'Of it's size.
Is there a feasibility stud* 0, 1 will continue to come back and oppose this
as I have done In one way or another in the last four years.,
r. C. It. Miztbell, 18251) Co,,-zaty Road #6. If the charge is considared would
the petitim be considered or would we have to submit a new petition? I feel
that we should know what will go into the west end, of the Plat- I call

ret W$$ary ,
Gordon Otten, 178111 13th Ave. Sorth. lie Is adjacent to the property and is
thc-, first one to speak who lives right next door. "I want to go on record
as opposing it, as an adjacent property owner.`
Jc,iv Diercks, 17615 10th Ave. Worth. Do any of the Commission members live
Ua that area? One or maybe two? Has the Commission anything in mind as to
what they would rather have on the property instead of a shopping cent.,?
I am a member of the group of houses just to the south of this area and I
am opposed to the construction of a shopping center, because of the availa-
bility of the shopping services 1-'j miles south in Wayzata, I am concerned
about the traffic on #101. 1 at, also concen-Led with the possibility of addi-
tioaal nice looking buildings being vacant. I don't think we need anything
out there yet, 1 would be against it simply for the traffic problem. is
this tha only plan that can be - th-Z's shopping center? Is there a feasibility
study? Isn't the a as serviced by worchants: within a mile and a half? If
they want to put something in, why don't they put this shopping center t-der-
ground and make the area a park?
Dale Oerg, 17610 13th Ave, North. I am in full agreempnt with everything
that has been said against the shopping center; It has not been proved that
there is a need. I voulZ ', very much dislike seeing all the extra traffic
comirg, through to the st o,tking center,
Ron Larson, 1.735 Olive Lxio. I am opposed for the reasons mentioned previously.
Kurt Relbrig, 1420 Ranier Lane. I am in support of
l
all that,that,has been, said in
opposition to the shopping center. I think theathe r rining Commission
sho"ld take into consideration, very seriously, what.,-h?.Ppens to the property
to the south $Z you put in a shopping center here. What happens to the rem.ain-
Ing 8 acres? I think the petitioner should: definitely be required to provide
ecouomiit feasibility studios. I nope thvt this petition will be rejected.
