The minutes of the special meeting of February 24 were approved as

Commissioner Willenbring read the report of the Ordinance Committee GAS STATION AT
as foll.owss 55 k70
1) Location of service station at proposed site is in. violation
of Ordinance 66-
2) The site is highly suitable for other commercial uses.
Chairman Agan reviewed Ord. 66-4 and the report originally presented
to the Council recommending such an ordinance. lir", Tart spoke in
favor of the proposal.,, stating that he felt a, service, station would
be the higheattand beat use of the land.
MOTION by Canmissioner Peterson, aet ond by Commissioner Kirchhoff ,
torecommend approval of the requested waiver of Ord. 66.4 to allow
for a service station at Hwy. 5.5 and Co. Fid. 7'.•
Alscussion folltved. Dommi psioner Peterson pointed out that the
major reason for adoption of Ord.. 66-4 was to control, the develop-
ment oi' gas stations in, residential areas. The possibility of 1im-
iting g,*nting of the waiver for a pumper station was discussed.
JIMMUM to the motion by Commissioner Kirchhoff, second by Co=iss--
loner Oiltie:nbring,, to recommend approval ofthe vaiver provided that
the gas atution iuvolvad is a pumper type station r ether than a flay.
Following discussion, Commissioner Kirchhoff ,..aposed` withdrawing
the amendment. Commissioner Willanbring declt,,ied to withdraw him
second. Upon vote berg taken., the amendment was defeated by a six,
nay vote. Commissioner:. 4an, Kindseth,- Peterson, Kirchhoff. G'jaw
anaugh and l4olec b voted nay. Comr issioners Will.enbring, Hedtke
an,d llsufield opted aye.
Upon vote being taken the notion passed by an eight yea vote.
