HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2012-358CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2012-358 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN POLICE PATROL VEHICLES WHEREAS, the proposed 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program and Proposed 2013 Central Equipment Budget include $245,000 for the replacement of seven police patrol vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City may purchase off State contracts; and WHEREAS, Nelson Auto Center has been awarded the contract with the State for Police Patrol Vehicles (Contract 437669). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA to authorize the purchase of seven new replacement Police Patrol Vehicles off the State contract through Nelson Auto Center contingent upon approval of the 2013 budget. The cost for three sedans is $89,710.83 ($29,903.61 each). The cost for the four SUVs' is $117,555.28 ($29,388.82 each) for a total expenditure of $207,266.11. No sales tax will be owed on six of these vehicles because they will all be clearly marked emergency vehicles and are not subject to state sales tax. Sales tax will be due on one SUV because it will be an unmarked traffic vehicle. Approved this 11th day of December, 2012.
