HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2012-326CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2012-326 A RESOLUTION INDICATING INTENT TO WITHDRAW FROM THE HIGHWAY 55 CORRIDOR COALITION JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WHEREAS, Think Highway No. 55 remains an important transportation corridor in Plymouth; and WHEREAS, the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition was established to work together and with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to develop a preliminary plan and layout for the future boundaries and right-of-way needs of the highway corridor; and WHEREAS, the preliminary plan and layout and future right-of-way needs of the corridor have been developed; and WHEREAS, there have been substantial improvements to the corridor; and WHEREAS, changes to federal transportation funding programs have all but eliminated "earmarking" for projects; and WHEREAS, the intent and purpose of the Coalition are no longer pertinent to the City of Plymouth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the City Manager to advise the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition of the City's intent to withdraw from the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition Joint Powers Agreement. Approved this 13t1' day of November, 2012.
