ORDINANCE NO. 2006-23
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLYMOUTH
CITY CHARTER CONCERNING MEMBERSHIP
ON THE CHARTER COMMISSION

WHEREAS, pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 410.12, Subd. 7 the Charter Commission has
recommended to the City Council that the Charter be amended as provided herein; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 410.12, Subd. 7 provides that upon recommendation of the
Charter Commission the City Council may enact a Charter Amendment by ordinance.
THE CITY OF PL YMOUTH ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1 of the City Charter is amended by adding Section 1.04 to provide:
1.04 Charter Commission Membership.
A council member may serve on both the city council and the charter commission, as
long as no more than one council member serves on the charter commission at one time. Council
members serving on the Charter Commission on the effective date of this Charter Amendment may
complete their terms on the Charter Commission.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect ninety (90) days after its passage and
publication.
ADOPTED by the City Council this 12th day of September, 2006.
