CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 P.M. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. PUBLIC FORUM 4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION by Commissioner Petrash, seconded by Commissioner Goldetsky, to approve the December 17, 2014 Planning Commission Agenda. Vote. 7 Ayes. MOTION approved. 5. CONSENT AGENDA A. APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 3, 2014 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES MOTION by Commissioner Petrash, seconded by Commissioner Anderson, to approve the consent agenda. Vote. 7 Ayes. MOTION approved. 6. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. PURSUIT MARSHALL ARTS ACADEMY, LLC (2014116) Chair Davis introduced the request by Pursuit Marshall Arts Academy, LLC for a conditional use permit to allow a sports and fitness club in the I-2 zoning district for property located at 181 Cheshire Lane North. Planner Berglund gave an overview of the staff report. Chair Davis introduced Dave Docherty, representing Pursuit Marshall Arts Academy, who stated he was there to answer any questions the commission may have. Approved Planning Commission Minutes December 17, 2014 Page 2 Commissioner Anderson confirmed that peak parking times for the academy would be after school, opposite the time of peak use for other tenants in the building. He also confirmed that the maximum number of students at any one time would be 10 to 16 and that the type of Marshall Arts taught would be karate. Commissioner Petrash asked if Pursuit Marshall Arts Academy is an existing business. Mr. Docherty responded affirmatively, noting that until now it had not had a strong presence in the Twin Cities market. Jharen Haynes, also with the Academy, stated he would be the instructor and noted that the academy would be a great addition for the Plymouth area. Commissioner Kovach confirmed there would be a professionally finished sign with the company name on the outside of the building. Chair Davis opened the public hearing and closed the public hearing, as there was no one present to speak on the item. Commissioner Anderson stated it was nice to see this new business coming to Plymouth. He noted there would not be a parking issue associated with the use, and that he would be supportive of the request. Commissioner Kobussen stated he was also supportive of the request, noting there was ample parking, and it was a logical use in this area. MOTION by Commissioner Kobussen, seconded by Commissioner Petrash, to recommend approval of the conditional use permit to allow a sports and fitness club in the I-2 zoning district for property located at 181 Cheshire Lane North. Vote. 7 Ayes. MOTION approved. 7. ADJOURNMENT MOTION by Chair Davis, with no objection, to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 P.M.
