SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 22, 1994
A special meeting of the Plymouth City Council was called to order by Mayor Tierney at
7:00 p.m. in the Public Safety Building, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on August 22, 1994.
PRESENT: Mayor Tierney; Councilmembers Anderson, Morrison, Lymangood,
Helliwell, Granath, and Edson.
ABSENT: None.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Johnson, Assistant Manager Lueckert, Public Works
Director Moore, Planning Director Hurlburt, Finance Director Hahn, and Attorneys Allen
Barnard and Keith Nelson.
POSSIBLE APPEAL OF THE FREEMAN CASE
The meeting went into closed session at 7:05 p.m. to discuss the possible appeal of
the Freeman case.
MOTION was made by Edson, seconded by Granath, to reopen the meeting at
7:50 p.m.
Attorney Barnard stated that the purpose of the open session was to possibly take
action on appealing the Freeman case.
MOTION was made by Edson, seconded by Granath, to appeal the decision
handed down by the court in the Freeman case.
Discussion followed about placing this item on the consent agenda at the next
regularly scheduled City Council meeting, based on similar actions in the past.
MOTION by Edson, seconded by Lymangood, to table the motion to appeal and
direct staff to place the item on the consent agenda for the next regularly scheduled
meeting.
Motion carried, seven ayes.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
