HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 01-24-1994 SpecialMINUTES PLYMOUTH FORUM JANUARY 24, 1994 A special meeting forum of the Plymouth City Council was called to order by Mayor Tierney at 6:35 p.m. in the City Center, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on January 24, 1994. PRESENT: Mayor Tierney; Councilmembers Lymangood, Granath, and Edson. Councilmember Helliwell arrived at 6:45 p.m. ABSENT: Councilmember Anderson STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Johnson, Assistant Manager Lueckert, Community Development Director Hurlburt, Public Safety Director Gerdes, Associate Planner Keho, and City Clerk Rauenhorst PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT - BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR CHURCH Bob Donley, described the Beautiful Savior Church proposed to be built in Plymouth. He stated that plans will be submitted in about two months for consideration by the Planning Commission REQUEST FOR 4 -WAY STOP AT 44TH AVENUE AND NORTHWEST BLVD David Bond appeared on behalf of the Curtis Lake Homeowner Association in the area of 46th Avenue North and Northwest Blvd. He presented a letter requesting a 4 -way stop sign at 44th Avenue and Northwest Blvd. He stated the 4 -way stop is needed for the safety of the approximate 130 children in this neighborhood. He stated there is no safe crossing of Northwest Blvd. to go to French Park or other neighborhoods. Councilmember Edson stated that as the bridge across the railroad tracks opens and there is a straight thoroughfare from County Road 10 to the Ridgedale area, traffic will increase on Northwest Blvd. He agreed that residents on the west side of Northwest Blvd. in this area have to controlled crossing. Councilmember Helliwell arrived at 6:45 p.m., and stated she had received a request from a resident to consider installation of a 4 -way stop at this location. The Council requested a report from staff. The meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m. Ci y Clerk
