RESOLUTION APPROVING A CHANGE TO THE HILDE PERFORMANCE CENTER PHASE 2) Fk
VETERANS MEMORIAL PROJECT (PRK4001 1) FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A PORTABLE
RESTROOM ENCLOSURE IN LIEU OF A VAULT TOILET
WHEREAS, on July 22, 2014, the City Council awarded the contract for construction of the Hilde
Performance Center (Phase 2) & Veterans Memorial (PRK40011); and
WHEREAS, the project includes the addition of a central entryway, updates to the north
entry, an electronic reader board, enhancements to the pond plaza area, trails and restroom
facilities and a Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, during the final project review, it was determined that the vault toilet facility
originally planned for is not allowed when public sanitary sewer is available on the property,
pursuant to Section 705 of the Plymouth City Code; and
WHEREAS, in place of a vault toilet facility, a portable restroom enclosure will be built
on the site; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of a portable restroom enclosure is $40,000, very similar
to the actual cost of the vault toilet option and not requiring additional funding, and would be
completed as part of the current project using Community Improvement Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to construct
a portable restroom enclosure in place of a vault toilet facility.
