RESOLUTION APPROVING EXCLUSIVE CATERING CONTRACTS FOR THE PLYMOUTH CREEK
CENTER WITH COMMON ROOTS CATERING, LANCER CATERING, MEDINA
ENTERTAINMENT, MINTAHOE CATERING AND ROASTED PEAR CATERING
WHEREAS, in June 2014 the Plymouth Creek Center sought Requests for Proposals (RFP's) for
caterers to ensure clients had the best possible service, pricing, diversity and menu options; and
WHEREAS, staff conducted a thorough process to include any interested catering
companies and had sixteen RFP's returned; and
WHEREAS, staff interviewed ten of the sixteen applicants; and
WHEREAS, a committee made up of the Mayor, City Manager, City of Plymouth Staff
and a Senior representative completed taste tests with the six applicant finalists; and
WHEREAS, staff have selected Common Roots Catering, Lancer Catering, Medina
Entertainment, Mintahoe Catering and Roasted Pear Catering to be the exclusive caterers at the
Plymouth Creek Center; and
WHEREAS, this is a one year contract between the City and each of the five catering
companies with an option for a four-year extension. The contract begins on December 1, 2014
and will remain in force until November 30, 2015, unless terminated prior to that time by either
party; and
WHEREAS, staff believes having five caterers instead of three will better meet the needs
of clients; and
WHEREAS, staff believes these five contracts will be beneficial to both the City and the Caterers.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that Mayor and City Manager are authorized to sign catering contracts between the City of
Plymouth and Common Roots Catering, Lancer Catering, Medina Entertainment, Mintahoe Catering and
Roasted Pear Catering for catering services beginning December 1, 2014 and ending November 30,
2015.
