RESOLUTION No. 2014-285
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PROJECT FUNDING
WHEREAS, the city ended the 2013 year with a favorable net positive position resulting in
$2,895,665 available for other purposes; and
WHEREAS, a resolution was passed on May 27, 2014 to transfer these funds to the
General Capital Project Fund as a placeholder until Council gives further direction; and
WHEREAS, Council discussed future improvement projects at two budget meetings
(August 191h and August 26th); and
WHEREAS, as a result of those discussions, Council directed staff to transfer $1,572,665
from the available funding that is in the General Project fund as follows:
• $700,000
-Transfer to Park Replacement Fund
(partial funding for West Medicine Retaining wall)
• $692,665
-Transfer to Street Reconstruction Fund
(partial funding for Flashing Yellow Turn Signals)
• $ 50,000 -Transfer to Street Reconstruction Fund
(Crosswalk signage)
• $130,000
-Transfer to General Fund
(Micro fiche to Laker fiche)
WHEREAS, the balance of $1,323,000 will remain in the General Project Fund and be
designated by Council for the following:
• $ 223,000 - Tandem Axel Plow
• $ 100,000 - City Hall retaining wall repairs
• $1,000,000 - Public Works Expansion & Fuel Management system replacement
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that authorization is hereby given to transfer funds to be reflected in the
year 2014 and designate $1,323,000 of remaining available funds.
