HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2012-204CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2012-204 APPROVE PREFERRED ALIGNMENT (ALIGNMENT 3) AND AUTHORIZE DISTRIBUTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET (EAW), PEONY LANE NORTH OF SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD CITY PROJECT NO. 10015 WHEREAS, the Peony Lane / Lawndale Lane Extension project is listed in the 2012- 2016 Capital Improvement Program at an estimated total cost of $7,300,000; and WHEREAS, four alternative alignments were developed and analyzed; and WHEREAS, Alignments 1 and 3 would both serve the City's long-term transportation and land use needs; and WHEREAS, Alignment 3 best meets the City's needs because: it has fewer impacts to private property; it requires fewer relocations; it is slightly better for future land use opportunities and it is less expensive due to lower right of way costs; and WHEREAS, the EAW evaluated the anticipated environmental impacts from all four proposed alignments considering each alignment were constricted as a four -lane roadway with turn lanes, a trail, sidewalk and storm water ponds. WHEREAS, the comparative environmental impacts are detailed in the EAW. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, Alignment 3 is selected as the preferred alignment and the Draft Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) is authorized for distribution. Approved this 10th day of July, 2012.
