RESOLUTION No. 2014-173
RESOLUTION APPROVING ASPHALT BID FROM DMJ ASPHALT, INC TO OVERLAY
PARK TRAILS AND OTHER ASPHALT SURFACES FOR 2014 AND 2015
WHEREAS, the City Council has given budget approval for asphalt overlay/repair work for 2014-
2015 for the Parks & Forestry Division; and
WHEREAS, the Parks & Forestry Division has inspected and assigned a rating to 140 miles of
trails in the City; and
WHEREAS, trails with a medium to high extent of distress will be overlaid with asphalt; and
WHEREAS, the trail repair project is scheduled in the CIP for 2014 and 2015 for $200,000
utilizing the Park Replacement Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City has prepared specifications, advertised, received and opened bids on April
11, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received; and

WHEREAS, based on bid amounts and experience with past city project, staff recommends
accepting the bid from DMJ Asphalt, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, To award the asphalt bid for park trails and other asphalt surfaces to DMJ
Asphalt, Inc for $68.00/ton in 2014 and $70.00/ton in 2015 using Park Replacement Funds.
APPROVED this 27th day of May, 2014.
