RESOLUTION 2004-411
APPROVING A LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT FOR THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5025 VICKSBURG LANE NORTH.

WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has requested reclassification of the land use designation of
the 4.66 -acre site addressed as 5025 Vicksburg Lane North from LA -2 (Living Area 2) to P -I
(Public/Semi-Public/Institutional); and,
WHEREAS, the property affected by the amendment is presently legally described as Outlot H,
Nanterre, Hennepin County, Minnesota; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing
and recommends approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by
the City of Plymouth for reclassification of the land use guiding from LA -2 (Living Area 2) to P-
I (Public/Semi-Public/Institutional) for the 4.66 -acre parcel of land located at 5025 Vicksburg
Lane North, based on the following findings:
1. The need for this action is identified in the City's Water Supply and Distribution Plan,
(Chapter 9 of the Comprehensive Plan.) The Plan identifies a need for additional storage in
the northeast portion of the City.
2. The City Council amended the Chapter 9 to identify an in -ground reservoir at the subject
properties' specific location.
3. Chapter 4 of the Comprehensive Plan specifies that purpose of the P -I land use classification
is for public utilities sites.

FURTHER, approval of the land use guide plan amendment is contingent upon, and subject to,
the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council.
