RESOLUTION NO. 2004-335
URGING HENNEPIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
TO ENACT A COUNTY -WIDE SMOKE FREE
ORDINANCE PROHIBITING SMOKING IN PLACES OF
EMPLOYMENT AND RESTAURANTS
WHEREAS, the cities of Eden Prairie and Bloomington recently adopted resolutions
urging Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to enact a County -Wide Smoke Free
Ordinance prohibiting smoking in places of employment and restaurants;
WHEREAS, the basis for Bloomington and Eden Prairie urging the County to address the
issue County -Wide is that this wouldn't place cities who haven't enacted smoke free
ordinances in a disadvantage to other cities in the County who have enacted smoke-free
ordinances
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
urges the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to enact a County -Wide Smoke
Free Ordinance.
Adopted by the City Council on August 10, 2004.
