HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2004-319CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2004-319 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT REGARDING MANDATORY REVISIONS TO THE CITY'S FLOODPLAIN OVERLAY DISTRICT REGULATIONS (2004050) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has requested to amend the Floodplain Overlay District regulations and related definitions of the Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed text amendment at a duly called public hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Zoning Ordinance text amendment regarding the City's Floodplain Overlay District regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the requested Zoning Ordinance text amendment regarding the City's Floodplain Overlay District regulations, based upon the following findings: 1. The proposed regulations would be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan. 2. The proposed amendments are mandated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 3. The proposed amendments are necessary in order to adopt the September 2, 2004 FEMA flood insurance study and flood insurance rate maps, and to maintain eligibility in the National Flood Insurance Program.
