HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2004-247CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2004-247 AWARD CONTRACT 2004 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT BURL OAKS AND KINGSVIEW AREAS CITY PROJECT NO. 4102 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of streets in the 2004 Street Reconstruction Project, City Project No. 4102, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Contractor Base Bid + Alternate A Base Bid + Alternate B Engineer's Estimate $1,081,990.60 $1,117,173.60 Doboszenski & Sons, Inc. $1,134,149.00 $1,147,361.02 Bituminous Roadways $1,141,697.65 $1,162,177.60 Hardrives, Inc. $1,186,173.00 $1,207,236.65 Buffalo Bituminous $1,196,703.70 $1,214,055.65 WHEREAS, the low bid is 2.7% higher than the Engineer's Estimate, but is considered a reasonable cost for this work; and WHEREAS, it appears that Doboszenski & Sons, Inc. of Loretto, MN is the lowest responsible bidder complying with the minimum specifications; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends Alternate B due to the durability of Reinforced Concrete Pipe; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to Doboszenski & Sons, Inc. of Loretto, MN; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract for the Base Bid and Alternate Bid B with Doboszenski & Sons, Inc. of Loretto, MN in the name of the City of Plymouth for the 2004 Street Reconstruction Project, City Project No. 4102, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $1,147,361.02. FURTHERMORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the fiunding for this project shall be as follows: General Obligation Improvement Bonds Series 2003C $888,296.58 Special Assessments $407,462.67 Water Resources Fund $81,073.97 Adopted by the City Council on June 22, 2004.
