RESOLUTION NO. 2004-242
ORDERING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
2004 MILL AND OVERLAY IMPROVEMENTS
LARCH LANE/MEDICINE RIDGE ROAD
CITY PROJECT NO. 4111
WHEREAS, bids were taken in 2002 for mill and overlay of Larch Lane and Medicine Ridge Road and
were rejected as being too high; and
WHEREAS, these improvements were not constricted in 2003 due to budget uncertainty during the
State legislative session; and
WHEREAS, the City's Consulting Engineer, Howard R. Green Company has prepared plans and
specifications for the 2004 Mill and Overlay and on Larch Lane from County Road 9 to the Canadian
Pacific railroad north of Schmidt Lake Road and Medicine Ridge Road from East Medicine Lake
Boulevard to 26"' Avenue, and has presented such plans and specifications to the City Council for
approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. Such improvements are hereby ordered.
2. Plans and specifications, copies of which are on file in the City Engineer's Office and
made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in The
Constriction Bulletin an advertisement for bids for the making of such improvement
under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published
twice, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City
Clerk until 10:00 a.m. on July 15, 2004, at which time they will be publicly opened in the
Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard,
Plymouth, Minnesota, by the City Manager and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check,
bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of
such bid.
4. Funding for the project will be as follows:
Mill and Overlay $440,000 Street Replacement Fund
Schmidt Lake Boat Launch $ 20,600 Water Quality Fund
Adopted by the City Council on June 22, 2004.
