HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2004-180CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2004-180 APPROVE THE COUNTY ROAD 73 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 55 PARK AND RIDE STRUCTURE CONCEPT DESIGN AND PROCEED WITH THE PUBLIC PROCESS AND THE MN/DOT AND NATIONAL TRANSIT DATABASE (NTD) FUNDING AGREEMENTS CITY PROJECT NO. 3125 WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth provides transit services pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Advisory Committee on Transit (PACT) provides review and oversight of Plymouth Metrolink operations, facilities and administration; and WHEREAS, the PACT has approved a 2002 Metrolink Public Facilities Study to provide a guide for Plymouth Metrolink Facilities improvements; and WHEREAS, the 2002 Public Facilities Study has recommended County Road 73 and Think Highway 55 as a priority site for a Park and Ride facility; and WHEREAS, the constriction of a transit Park and Ride stricture will create a highly visible and accessible facility that will help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution not only for the Plymouth area but also for the surrounding region; and WHEREAS, there is an existing Park and Ride lot at the southeast corner of County Road 73 and Trunk Highway 55 located within MnDOT right-of-way where a City -owned parking stricture could be located subject to a City/MnDOT agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City hereby adopts this resolution to approve the County Road 73 and Trunk Highway 55 Concept Design and proceed with the public process and the Mn/DOT and National Transit Database (NTD) fiunding agreements. The project is consistent with the 2002 Plymouth Metrolink Facilities Study and is filly supported by the City Council of the City of Plymouth. 2. Without fiuture City Council action this project will be approved contingent on the $500,000 State Bond Accelerated Funding.
