SUBJECT: Canvass Results of November 2 General Election
DATE: November 5, 2004 for Special City Council Meeting of November 9,
2004
1. ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt the attached resolution canvassing the returns of the
November 2 General Election and declaring the results of the election.
2. BACKGROUND: The General Election was held on November 2, 2004. Several
local offices were on the ballot. State law provides that within seven days after an
election, the governing body shall canvass the returns and declare the results of the
election. The City Council must act on this item at the November 9 meeting.
3. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached resolution canvassing the returns of the
November 2 General Election and declaring the results of the election.

RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -
CERTIFYING THE LOCAL RESULTS OF THE
NOVEMBER 2 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on November 2, 2004; and
WHEREAS, State law requires that the local government body shall canvass the
returns and declare the results of the election within seven days,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Plymouth City Council that
the results are certified and declared to be the official local results of the General
Election conducted on November 2, 2004:

1. ACTION REQUESTED: As per the the Council's amended Board and Commission
Policy, review the attached applications to determine who would be interviewed at
the Council's Special Meeting on November 16, 2004. In addition to the
applications, staff has attached current rosters, attendance rosters, current
Board/Commission Policy, and a spreadsheet containing information on the various
openings and whether incumbents desire to be reappointed.
