HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2014-130CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2014-130 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A HOME OCCUPATION LICENSE FOR ERIN GRUBESIC TO OPERATE A HAIR SALON BUSINESS OUT OF THE HOME LOCATED AT 15215 20TH AVENUE NORTH (2014012) WHEREAS, Erin Grubesic has requested a home occupation license to operate a hair salon business from her home at 18215 20th Avenue North, legally described as follows: Lot 10, Block 7, Imperial Hills, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public meeting and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by Erin Grubesic for a home occupation license at 18215 201h Avenue North, subject to the following conditions: 1. The home occupation license is approved for a hair salon business in accordance with the application and plans received by the city on March 5, 2014, except as amended by this resolution. 2. Compliance with section 21145 of the zoning ordinance, relating to home occupations. 3. The applicant must meet the following general standards: a) The home occupation shall be clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use of the premises, shall not change the residential character of the neighborhood, and shall not result in a disturbance to the surrounding uses. b) There shall be no use of equipment that would cause electrical interference to surrounding properties. c) The applicant shall use the driveway to acommodate parking demand. On -street parking shall not be utilized for parking demand. d) There shall not be any exterior storage of equipment used in the home occupation. e) Less than 25 percent of the gross floor area of the home shall be used for the home occupation. f) The attached garage shall not be used for the home occupation for storage of equipment. g) No person other than those who reside in the home shall be employed on the premises Resolution 2014-130 2014012 Page 2 4. The home occupation license is valid for one year from the date of approval. The home occupation license may be issued for a period of one year after which the license may be reissued for periods of up to three years each by the Zoning Administrator.
