HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2014-114CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2014-114 RESOLUTION APPROVING WATERCRAFT INSPECTION PROJECT COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT AND TEMPORARY USE OF WEST MEDICINE LAKE PARK BOAT LAUNCH BETWEEN THE THREE RIVERS PARK DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH WHEREAS, the proposed agreement will provide aquatic invasive species inspection services on the West Medicine Lake Park boat launch; and WHEREAS, Three Rivers Park District will provide inspectors who will be DNR Level 1 trained for inspections and education; and WHEREAS, the inspections will take place from 8am-4pm on the first three weekends of May and September; in 2014 the dates will be; May 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18 and September 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21; and WHEREAS, the City will compensate Three Rivers Park District at the rate of $10.00 per hour for the inspectors for a total of $960.00 to be funded through the Parks & Forestry budget; and WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District will be reconstructing the French Regional Park boat launch between the dates of September 2 through October 31; and WHEREAS, the West Medicine Lake Park boat launch will be used for temporary water access during the closure of the French Regional boat launch; and WHEREAS, the City will allow five temporary boat trailer parking spaces to be available; and WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District will provide restorative work on the West Medicine Lake Park boat launch, notification to affected parties, and secure the boat launch and signage; and WHEREAS, this Watercraft Inspection Project Cooperative Agreement will terminate on October 31, 2014 at the conclusion of the boating season. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Watercraft Inspection Project Cooperative Agreement and temporary use of West Medicine Lake Park boat launch between the Three Rivers Park District and the City of Plymouth is hereby approved. APPROVED this 22nd day of April, 2014.
