HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1970-529EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a SPECIAL meeting of the Village I Council of the Village Of Plymouth , Minnesota, was held at the Public Works Municipal Building on the 28th day of December , 1870 The following members were present: Mayor Hilda, Councilmen Johnson, Hintz and Spaeth. and the following members were absent: Councilman Kindseth s•••� �•�.+ �+{ntz introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 70-524 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AVrERNATE COAtMISSIONCR TO REPRESEBT THE PLYMOUTH (VILLAGE) ON THE BOARD OF THE BASSETTS CREEK FLOOD CONTROL COMMISSION AND APPOINTING SAID ALWZRNATE COMISSIONER WHEREAS, the (0ift) ) (Village) has entered into a joint and cooperative agreement with other communities establishing a Bassetts Creek Flood Control Commission, and WHEREAS, said agreement provides for one Commissioner to represent each of the individual nine communities, and WHEREAS, the Bassetts Creek blood Control Commission has been meeting and carrying out its assigned duties but finds that the nine Individual commissioners are not all able to attend all meetings, and WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that the (Village) be represented at all meetings of the Commission and have a representative present who can participate in the discussion, make or second motions and vote on the questions before the Commission, and WIEREAS, the joi:it agreement.does not provide for an alternate to serve if a Commissioner is unable to attend Commission meetings and RICHARD O'FALLON , who is our duly appointed Commissioner, recommends that an alternate Commissioner be appointed by this Council to &'_tend and vote at Commission meetings if he is unable to be present, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the village Council of the of Plymouth , Ninnesota, 1. It is hereby determined to be necessary and expedient to the viliaga I of P1ZW th to appoint an alternate Cori)misFsioner to serve on the Board of the Bassetts Creek Flood Control Commission. 2. The alternate Commissioner may serve in lieu of the duly appointed Commissioner at any meeting of the Board of said Com- mission if the Commissioner is not present at the meeting. Ile may participate in all discussions and may vote on all proposals before the Board of the Bassetts Creek Flood Control Commission. 3. The () (Village) agrees to waive any objection it may have to the Board of the Bassette Creek Flood Control Commission proceeding with its assigned duties with Council appointed alternate Commissioners voting in the absence of the regular appointed Commissioner. 4. The alternate Commissioner to serve on the Board of the Bassetts Creek Flood Control Commission from this municipality shall be Francis D. Hagen . He shall serve (1rtt7t without) compensation; provided, however, such member of the Commission may be paid his actual expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of his duties. 5. The alternate representative shall be subject to all the provisions of the joint and cooperative agreement and Commission by-laws and his appointment shall coincide with the term of our Commissioner under said joint agreement. 6. The (06") (Village) Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Bassetts Creek Flood Control Commission, in care of the Village Uanager, Village of Golden Valley, Uinnesota. Minnesota, hereby certify that I have carefully compared the attached and foregoing extract of the minutes of a special meeting of the Village Council of said Village held on December 28, 1970, with the original thereof on file in m9 office and the same is a full, true and complete transcript therefrom.
