HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 03-19-1980 SpecialIi f F1 Page 97 MINUTES SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING March 19, 1980 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was duly called to order by Mayor Hunt at 5:15 p.m. in the City Center at 3400 Plymouth Buulevard on March 19, 19$0. PRESENT: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils and Schneider and Manager Willis. ABSENT: Councilmember Davenport. The Manager presenter! affidavits Showinq publication and posting of Notice of Tlectio,, which affidavits were examined and found satisfactury and ordAred placed on file. 1he Kanager then presented the official rettains of the election officials of the Special Election held in ami for the City on March 18, 1980, on the question of Issuing bonds In the amount of not to exceed $2,950,000 for the purpose of providing money for the improvement and development of public ',arks and Rlaygreuids in the City. The said returns were duly examined and canvassed and found to be as follows: For all precincts) Votes YES . . . . . . . . . . 11,194 Votes NO . . . . . . . . . . 565 Defective or blank ballots. . I TOTAL BALLOTS . . . . . . . . 1,750 MOTION was ,made by Councilmember Schneider. seconded by Council - member Neils, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 80-198 as follows: BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota that it is hereby found and determined that at the Special Election held in and for said City on March 18, 1980 to vote upon the twstk ion of issuing bonds in the amount of not to exceed $2,950,000 for the purpose of providing money for the improvement and development of public parks and play- grounds in the City, there were cast a t6tal of 1,760 votes, of this 1,194 were in favor thereof and 565 were against the same, and 1 was a defective ballot, and said proposition is hereby declared adopted. Motion carried on a Roll Call vote, four ayes. The meeting adjourned at 5:2C p.m. 97 RESOLUTION N0. 80-198 City Clerk- 97 erk-
