Motion died for lack of a second. Various members of the Council pointed out that
a 9 ton rural design would require more tight of way and more physica' width than a
4-1anr urban section and that further we need more information before making this
important decision,

WATER TRE14TMENT ST40'
The Staff has received reports from two consulting engineers (Bonestreo/Bannister)
regarding possible alternative solutions to the problem of water treatment, The
Staff has reviewed these reports and is recommending that the Council approve the
construction of an iron removtl plant, as opposed to a softening plants Mayor Ali ide
summarized in five steps the discussion should follow;
1, N%astion of iron removal or softening,
2. Question of pressure or 3ravity if it is iron removal,,
3. Which engineering report do we accept,
a) Differences in recommendations on iron removal,
b) Differences in recomm adations on other water expansion recaTmet'da-
ti ons ,
c) Question of pilot planr test.

Lane project from County Road 6 to 16th Avenue, Motion carried, five ayes,
MOTION was made by Counellman Neils, seconded Ov Councl'lman Hunt, directing the
Staff to collect all documentation as to written correspondence and/or agreements,
reproduce them and distrioute to Council for Information purpose%. related to
Ntigara and Vicksburg and money collectible from Minneapolis. Motion carried.

It was agreed that Consulting Engineer Bonestroo be at the meeting or the 17th
so he might give firm commitments regarding time schedules for pmparing the
necessary preliminary reports.

RADISSON INN
After receiving tentative approval for 149 units at Radisson Inn, bids Mere
reviewed and tky now hive plans for 175 unii,t. A revisee site plan regsest
wi l c before planning Coami ssion on December 19. , and to the Council on
January.

Mayor Hilde proposed, for future discussion, ! suggestion that the Planning Coag

LAWCON
Councilman Spaeth discussed problems relating to the Village taking over the
Waterfront Tavern. particularly regarding the fact no provision was made for
paMnt of the business itself corductiA by Mr, Sahly. WIN was made by
Councilman Hunt, seconded by Councilman Neils, that the Staff be directed to
get with Village attorneys tf% see what the Village position is on this and
report back to Council by letter as to where the Village stands. Motion car-
ried, five ayes.
