Staples, Jr. at 7:30 p.m. Present: Mayor Staples, Trustees 01=t and Renner, the Village Administrator and Attorney. Absent: Trustees Hagen and 0' FL- in. Alec present: Chairman Egan of the Planning Co®ission, Coam issicaers Cavanaugh, Kirdseth, Holcomb and Peterson, and James B. Knight, Planning Consultant, d GL Mayor Usplea stated that the purpose of the meeting was to continue their joint review of the Proposed Zoning Ordinance for Plymouth and that they had left off at pagm 56 at the last meeting and would start Cohere at this meeting,. Mr. Leflier explained the present Sign Ordinance and explained the differences between i.t and the sign regulations in the Proposed Zoning Crdinance. The basic difference lies is the more liberal sign size regulations allowed by the p.:•ese.nt Ordinance in the areas zoned Residential -Open (R4). Th! pro- posed ordinance treate areas zoned (R-0) Residential -Open and R-1 rueidential areas as the same. Mayor Staples asked the Planning Commission to review this area and return with a specific recovmendation. M:. Lefler pointed out that there were no definite sign height regulations in the prolicsed ordinance and that definite heights should be not. After a discussion concerning the proper height, placement and other regulution of signs along freewayag Mayor Staples asked the Planning Commission to review this area and make a recommendation. Mr. Knight suggested that lots fr,.Ating on thoroughfares, through tho Buildiiyt Code, be required to install driveway turn-arounds on the lot to slietinate backing of vehicles out onto the thoroughfare. The Mayor suggested iwA all agreed that the required off-street parking on lap 67, 14 (a) and (b) be changed to too off-street spaces; (a) to 1.5 aff-street opicesj and 1;own- houses should have twc, spaces per wait. He thought that if it were ulteld at a later date it mould be to the Village's advantage to have it in the ordinance now.
