Present: Mayor Staples, Trustees O'Fallon, Renner, Hagen and Hunt, the Village Administrator, Attorney, and Engineer. WRS. DRANGE. On3the basis of bids received, considering conditions and various ARF IX co-ibinations, it appears that bids submitted by Northern Contracting Co. and Armco Steel Corporation in the amrunt of $155,291.37 is the total low bid. Discussion followed on the construction problems in tunneling under the bridge, on the cosi, of tunneling and on the amount of savings gained by combining the sanitary newer .line and tiLe storm drainage line within the same tunnel.* Bonestroo explained that the add-tiional coe now would be a 350000.00 permanent savings t --.the sanitary eewe-2 project. Trustee Hunt explained that the Sanitary Sewer Study Committee consilered the basic; bid of a permanent gravity flow interceptor and the aiternate bid of a temporary force main -lift statim. The lower cost alternate bid was accepted by the Sewer Committee. Mayor Staples reviewed both the sanitary and storm sewer projects in this area. He cited the need of having all, bins for beth proj`n4ts before deciding on thio negotiated bid. Since_there are diffire^.t sAwAr routes to be bid, one of thtse routes could indirave which method is most feasible. 'The bid opening is 4ithin ouG week. Mr. Rockers from Armco agreed to hold his bid LAtil the end of the week. ' Motion by Mayor Stsplk-.a, seconded by Hunt, that the action for the negotiated bids for the Beacen Heighte Drainage Area IX oe post- poned until the oonoulting engineer has determined the result of the sanitary sewer bids to be opened March 4, 1966. If the bido Wdi- cate that this course is feasible, and it iia iaemed necessary to have a special meeting, the time of the special mooting would be 11 o'clock A.M. Saturday, March 5, 115. 6. rV v L Amendment to the motion by O'Fallon, seconded by Hunt to set the time of the special meeting at 10 o!clock A.M. instead of 11 o'clock Ae V. Amendment to the motion passed by'a sive yea vote. Motion as amendRd was passed by a five :.a vote. Mr. Bonestroo reported that a meeting with the County Highway officials is to be held on Thursday to discuss the county require6 mint that no open cuts be allowed on .ny count; roads. This re- quirement woulu mean additional expense to the Villap on future sewer installs'It.iana which cross county roads.
