Re. Hamal Vole Consideration of thr contract with the Hamel Voluntf/er
P.1l, Contract, Fire Department was postponed to the March 1 meeting for finajl_izfno.
The Engineer submitted salary schedules and other 4ualimi
cations. required for the position of Street Superintendent,/forRe. Supt,
comparative purposes, from t..ree neighooring, municipalities, viz., of Streets.. Golden Valley, Vinnetonka and Hopkins and broaght -to the attention
of the Council that none of these superintendents have a so-called
technical background but in each case these municipalities have full~
time engineers so there is less hoed for the technical background
which we have been seeking. The .'rvgineer stated that he recommends,
andTrmatees Humvhrey and Sevi.ur concur, that the present Road
Superintendent of Plymouth be kept on in this capacity and that we
do vrith him what we have outlined we teaq,ect of anyone filling this
position: That we meet with him in conmittee and outline to him
mxactly what his responsibilities are to the Council and the Road
Crew and he will' be given until July 1, 1965, :o prove himself. .4

Payment of regular checks as of February 15, 1965 for the
above accounts are numbered 4468 through 4545 and total $9,205.59.
A discussion was held concerning the Insurance Program for
the Village. Atty. Leflltr explained that he has conferred with an
Insurance Consultant concerning our present and future insurance pro-
gram who steteJ that in his jud4:rcnt ou: insurance prog;;•,ar. presently
is in excellent condition - coverage fine, p.emium,t low .and veth vele
of the best companies: in the business; therefore, it would be fool-
hardy for the Villagc of Plymouth to spend money to put out specifica-
tions and put the insurance out for bids. The consultant indlZated that
were he to proceed to give us a written reczrrmrendation as to our in-
surance Pro,;.ram, his fee mould be in the neighborhood o. $750,00,Nayor
Staples commented, and the Council unanimously agreed, . 1t our present
insurance coverage is adequate in all rmspeet:., as is thi. _,pinion of
this expert, and that we need not proceed in the natt r.
