HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 06-12-1962June 12. 1962 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular Meeting of the Village Council of the Vill4e of Plymoath, Minnesota, was duly held at the Village Hail on the 12th day of June, 1962, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Present: Mayor Keefe, Trustees Yngve, Curtis, Kreatz and Teberg. Thi Village Clerk, Engineer and Attorney. Absent: None. The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Keefe. Copies of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 5, 1962, as mailed to each Councilman, were approved. Bids were received in accordance with of$cial publication for Bids on 1962 the 1962 Street Improvement. Bids received were as follows: Alexander Street Improve Construction Company, Inc., $69,383.05; C. S. McCrossan, Inc., $60,604.20; ments. J. V. Gleason Company, $75,479.35; Black Top Surface Company, $67,432.08. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid was attached to each contractor's bid. Motion made by Trustee Curtis thLt all bids be turned over to the Village Engineer for checking and reccnmendat ons and that -tie Villajei Engineer submit his recommendation for the successful bidder at the next Council meeting on June 19, 1962. Motion seconded by Trustee Yngve and passed by all Council members voting aye. C* County Roads 70 and State Hwy. 55. Motion seconded by Trustee Kreatz and Rd. 70 & Stats passed by all Council members voting aye. Hw9. 55. A discussion was held on the bituminous surfacing of Forestview Re. Bites Lane from Ridgemount Avenue to County Road 6. It was agreed that this Surfacing matter be tabled until the meeting of June 19 and that the Village Engineer Forestview''Lea submit a report as to his recommendations on the improvement. If the work is not completed prior to approval of the plat, a cash bond shall be posted to the extent of the total cost, or a performance bond posted in the amount of one and one-half times the cost of the work to be done when the contract is entered into. The items set out in the memorandum were all generally accepted by the Council with the exception of Item 5, sub -numbers, "g't and "i", whish shall be eliminated. The Village Engineer is to prepare a contract with each developer, setting out the requirements required. All roads shall be bituminous surfaced prior to final approval of the plat, or bond posted guaranteeing the work to be done within two years from the date of final approval of the plat.
