HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 06-08-1961 SpecialJune 1961 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,. a Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota,, was duly held at the Village Hall on the 8th day of June, 1961, at 7:3C P.M. Present: Trustees Keefe, Kreatz, Theis and Tngve, the Village ylerk and Engineer. Absents . Mayor Anderson. The meeting was called to order by Trustee Keefe, pro tem. The purpose of the meeting was for a public hearing to con- sider the installation of storm sewers on Ninth Avenue (Hollywood Avenue) from State Hwy. ",% to Lot 9, Block 2, City Vier Acres, Second Addition.. This si.or:a sewer project is also intended to serve the gest side of 101 and known as a portion of Frick's addition. The estimated cost of the project is $18,500.00. There were 32 residents present who represented the lands on both sides of Hwy. 101. They were represented by Richard Boyce, an attorney. There was considerable discussion from the re4idents as to the necessity of such an elaborate installation at the present time, as practically everyone present felt that it involved only two or three property owners. A petition was also presented by Richard Boyce signed b;,- twenty propert;; owners, protesting the improvement.. Upon a vote being taken, sixteen property owners opposed it and three were in favor. Motion was made by Ingve that further study should be given to the project and that the Village establish an over-all program for storm sewer construction and that, this matter be tabled indefinitely. Motion seconded by Kreatz and passed by all Council members voting "aye". On motion the meeting adjourned at &45 P.M. Village Clerk
