HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 06-21-1960OM 21l 124Q Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Regular Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was duly held at the Village Hall on the 21st day of June, 1960, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. Present: Mayor Anderson, Trustees Keefe, Kreatz, Sahly and Theis and the Clerk and Attorney. Absent: None. Minutes of the meetings of June 7 and June 14, 1960, were read and on motion approved. Motion made by Theis that a permit be granted to Wallace Sletten, 11305 Waymouth Road to build a garage within seven feet of 3fie neighbors property line. Notion seconded by Keefe and passed by all Council. Members voting aye. Motion made by Keefe that a permit be granted to F. R. Quinette, 11311 Waymouth Road to build a garage within seven feet of his neighbors property line. Motion seconded by Kreatz and Weed by all Council Members voting aye. Motion made by Kreatz that the Dumping Permit of George Begin,4210 North 163rd Street be renewed for one year comencing July 1, 1960 at a permit fee of $50.00. [Motion seconded by Sahly and passed by all Council members voting aye. Preston Wilson and a few other residents of Woodfield Avenue appeared, with a petition signed by residents, to state their objections to the improvement and blacktopping of Woodfield Avenue as originally petitioned for. After a lengthy discussion the Council agreed to reconsider the original petition. Enoch Peterson, Chairman of the Planning Commission and Mr. Carlson and Mr. Hawks, representing the Minneapolis Industrial Park appeared to discuss the rezoning to industrial certain lands for the Minneapolis Industrial Park. The Planning Comission held an official hearing on June 9, 1960 and no objettims of any consequence were presented against the rezoning. The Comission recommended that the 140 acres east of 135th street be rezoned industrial and the westerly 150 cares be considered for rescuing upon the development of the easterly portion of land. Mr. Carlson presented a letter, which was read to the Council, setting out reasons for rezoning to industrial the entire 290 acres in order to plan the necessary improvements of roads and utilities, etc. for the entire project. Mr. Carlson also stated that Minnetonka Village intends to sane for general business prrposes their entire 160 acres involved in the project. He also stated he felt the Council should have enough faith in the developers to rezone the entire tract on account of the capital investment which has been made and the reputation of the individuals involved. Notion made by Keefe that the follming lands be zoned from residential to industrial for the Minneapolis Industrial Park: All of that land bound by the northerly right-of- way line of County Road six (6), the Southwesterly right - of -may line of State Trunk Highway Fifty -figs (55) aid the easterly right-of-way line of the proposed Federal aid Road Four hundred Ninety-four (494). Said lands being situate in part of Section 22 and Section 27, Tnwnship 118, Range 22, Hennerin County. Motion seconded by Sahly and upon a vote being taken Permit to Wallace Sletten Permit to F. R.
