HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 11-28-2006 SpecialAdopted Minutes Special Council Meeting November 28, 2006 Deputy Mayor Slavik called a Special Meeting to order in the Medicine Lake Room, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on November 28 at 5:38 p.m. COUNCIL PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Slavik, Councilmembers Hewitt, Slavik, Black, Willis, and Bildsoe (arrived at 5:40 p.m.). Mayor Johnson arrived at 5:58 p.m. ABSENT: Councilmember Stein. STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Ahrens, Public Works Director Cote, City Engineer Moberg, Financial Analyst Kohn, Administrative Services Director McGann, Planning Manager Senness, Park and Recreation Director Blank, and City Clerk Engdahl. Fernbrook Lane and Street Reconstruction CIP Projects (1013) City Engineer Moberg and Public Works Director Cote discussed the proposed Fembrook Lane reconstruction project (from 27th Avenue to 34th Avenue), and how that project affects and/or relates to funding other Comprehensive Improvement Program CIP) projects. They stated construction would begin in the spring of 2007. They discussed status of right-of-way acquisition agreements and stressed that no buildings would be removed due to these acquisitions. The majority of the Council stressed the need to proceed with this project even though the project could be very costly. The Council has already scheduled a Study Session on January 16 to discuss the 2007-2011 CIP, as well as the proposed cost of this project and what the funding implications would be in relation to other CIP projects.
