HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1997-699C] CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO.97.699 AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENGAGE CONSULTING SERVICES FOR A STREETSCAPING STUDY OF THE CITY CENTER AREA WHEREAS, in 1996 the City of Plymouth adopted a City Center Pian that set out to establish a distinct identity for "downtown" Plymouth; and WHEREAS, the City Center Pian recognizes the importance of the streetscape and its related elements in achieving that identity; and WHEREAS, in April 1997, the City Council adopted goals and objectives indicating the Councilor desire to study possible lighting and streetseape improvements in the City Center area, as part of the overall goal to strengthen its sense of community as a gathering place for citizens; and WHEREA% it is necessary for the City to obtain consulting services from one or more firms to supplement the staff available to conduct this work; NOW, THEREFOM BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,1t4INNESOTA, chat staff is hereby authorized to engage professional services for a comprdhensive streetseaping study of the City Center area according to the following conditions: 1. The study would address the following elements: street lightingon � ssings d landscaping, plantings and irrigation, on -street parkingughpedestrian the aces, and the street furniture, informational and directional signage signage and the fencelwall along Plymouth Blvd. for the Lifetime/Ice Center site. a. Time cost of the study shall be paid from Tax Increment Financing revenues allocated for the City Center area. Adopted by the City Council on November S, 1997. •
