HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1997-669• CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 97 - 669 Authorizing the Execution of Agreements with the Metropolitan Council and the Shenandoah Woods Limited Partnership to Provide Metropolitan Livable Communities Housing incentive Account Funding for the Construction of Affordable Housing as Part of Development of the Shenandoah Woods Apartments WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act (Minnesota Statutes 473.25 to 473.254) establishes a Metropolitan Livable Communities Fund with a Local Housing Incentives Account which is intended to assist metropolitan area municipalities in meeting their adopted housing gam; and WHEREAS, on November 6, 1996, the City Council elected to participate in the Local Housing Incentive Account of the Metropolitan Livable Communities Fund for calendar year 1997; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Councdl has awarded $225,000 from the Local Housing Incentive Account to the City to assist in the development of the Shenandoah Woods Apartments; and WHEREAS, the development of the Shenandoah Woods Apartments will contribute to meeting the City's adopted housing goals; and WHEREAS, in order to make the funds from the Local Housing Incentive Account available for their intended purpose the City must enter into agreements with the Metropolitan Council and the Shenandoah Woods Limited Partnership regarding the award and disbursement of these funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute agreements with the Metropolitan Council and the Shenandoah Woods Limited Partnership on behalf of the City regarding the award and disbursement of a $225,000 Local Housing Incentive Account Grant for development of the Shenandoah Woods Apartments. Adoptod by the Plymouth City Council on November 5, 1997.
