RESOLUTION NO. 97-M
DESIGNATING CONSULTANTS FOR
THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
WHEREAS, in 1996 the Minnesota Legislature adopted amendments to the Metropolitan
Land Planning Act which require all cities in the Metro Area to update their
comprehensive plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth will be updating its comprehensive plan in 1997 and
1998 in order to meet the requirerrtents of the law; and
WHEREAS, on July 23, 1997 the Council authorized staff to issue requests for proposals
for consultant assistance with the preparation of the Comprehensive Plan Update; and
WHEREAS, proposals were received and five consultant firms were interviewed, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc. is the
firm best suited in qualifications and experience to provide the planning services needed
for Phase 1 of the project, developing alternative land use plans for northwest Plymouth
and preparing a preliminary land use plan update for the City; and
WHEREAS, Bonestroo, Rosene Anderlik and Associates has been determined to be the
firm best qualified to provide the engineering services that will be needed to supplement
the planning consultant's work for Phase 1;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Mayor and City Manager aro authorized to
enter into all contracts necessary to secure the services of Northwest Associated
Consultants, Inc. and Bonestroo, Rosene Anderlik and Associates ''or Phase I of the
Comprehensive Plan update.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the source of funds for the contract with Northwest
Associated Consultants, Inc. shall be the Community Development Fund, and that the
source of funds for services from Bonestroo, Rosene Anderlik and Associates shall be the
Utility Trunk Fund.
