CITY OF PLYMOUTH
RESOLUTION NO, 97 - S87
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION FOR TRANSIT
CAPITAL FUNDING FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has requested applications from transit agencies and
transit authorities in the metropolitan area for transit capital project funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth operates a Replacement Transit service known as Plymouth
Metrolink under Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires regional transit funding for transit capital
improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth strongly endorses the application to the Metropolitan
Council on behalf of Plymouth Metrolink for transit capital improvement project funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Plymouth City Council supports and
encourages application to the Metropolitan Council for transit capital project funding for
Plymouth Metrolink as follows:
• Two additional park and ride facilities to be sited !n the western portion of the City of
Plymouth, consistent with recommendations of the Public Transit Facilities Study
prepared for Plymouth Metrolink by LSA Design, Inc. draft dated January 3. 1997. and
subsequent discussion by the Sub -Committee on Transit of the Plymouth City Council;
and
• Neighborhood bus stop improvement, to be located in several locations around the City
of Plymouth, identified as Level A and Level B stop improvements, consistent with
recommendations of the Public Transit Facilities Study prepared for Plymouth
Metrolink by ISA Design, Inc., draft dated January 3, 1997, and subsequent discussion
by the Sub -Committee on Transit of the Plymouth City Council.
• Bus shoulder lanes on both sides of 'r.H. 169 betwee V Avenue and Highway SS in
accordance with a memo from G.C. Bentley Associates dated September 16, 1997.
Adopted by the City Council on October 1, 1997.
