RESOLUTION NO. 97 - 382
RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS. AND AUTHORIZING
READVERTISING FOR BIDS WITH A MODIFIED BID PACKAGE
WEST MEDICINE LAKE PARK IMPkOVEMENT - PHASE ID
SITE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 330
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the conswX4011 of the West Medicine
Labe Park Improvement, Phase III, Site Improvements and all necessary appurtenances, bids
were receiveds opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received
complying with the advertisement:
Lan Dar Inc. $450,768.00
Barber Construction $451,610.00
WHEREAS, it appears that all bids received are excessively high and over the projected cost
budgeted for the site improvements portion of this project; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to reject the bids received and readvertise for
bids with a modified bid package.
NOW, THEREFORE► BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. The City Council rejects all bids received for the West Medicine Lake Park Improvement
Phase M. Site Improvements according to the plans and specifications therefore approved
by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer.
2. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids.
3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in TE
ConstructionuB lletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement
under such revised plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published once,
shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Cl ark
until 10.00 a.m. on July 10. 1997 at which time they will be publicly opened in the
Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard,
Plymouth, Minnesota, by the City Manager and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check,
bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of such
bid.
