AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CITY RESOURCES TO PROVIDE 1997 FLOOD
RELIEF ASSISTANCE IN WESTERN MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, severe flooding in western Minnesota during the spring of 1997 has
severely stretched the resources of many communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth may from time to time have resources of city
equipment and staff which can be used to assist in 1997 flood relief,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Plymouth, Minnesota, that the City Manager is authorised to direct the use of city
resources to provide 1997 flood relief to western Minnesota communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any city equipment shall be operated by city
stiff, that staff shall be paid wages according to existing labor agreements for flood relief
work, that the cost of meals and lodging shall be paid for by the City of Plymouth if not
provided by other agencies, and that the City Manager shall report to the City Council
from time to time on the City of Plymouth's flood relief assistance.
