APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDNEENT FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
FOR ADOPTION OF THE CONSERVATION AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN

Wi18RM the City of Plymaut6 is amending the Compeebensive Plan to adopt the
Conservation ad Emergency Management Plan for water supply, and
WHEREAS, the Consavation and Emergency Management Plan is an int to the
Cmpvb msive Plan in order to be consistent with 1993 Minnesota State Law. Chapter 186o ad,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed ami at a duly called
Public Hearing held on March 25, 1997 and recommended apprc ►al of the amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize staff to submit for
Metropolitan Couaa review the Conservation mad Emagency Management Plan, an amerAmt
to the Comprehensive Phu, based on the following findings:
1. Adaption of the Conservation and Emergency Management Plan is required by state law.
2. Mw Pim is consistent with Metropolitan Council and Minnesota Deft of Natural
Resources guidelines for municipal water 3UPP1Y PM&
3. Adoption of the Conservation and Emergency Management Plan is consistent with the
Comprehensive Plan.
FURTHER, approval of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment is contingent upon, and subject to,
the required nevi wv and response by the Metropolitan Council.
Adopted by the City Council on April 16,1997.
